Hydrochloric acid is a chemical compound. It is a hydrohalic acid, a hydrogen+ ion and a chloride- ion from the halogen group, dissolved in water to make the acid. It is naturally found diluted in our stomach to decompose food we eat. Other hydrohalic acids include hydrofluoric acid, hydrobromic acid, hydroiodic acid, and, though it is usually artificially assembled and has no applications, hydroastatic acid.
