The main use of arsenic, is in alloys of lead in car batteries, and ammunition, and it is the common n-type dopant in semiconductor electronic devices, and the compound, gallium arsenide is the 2nd most widely used compound for industrial uses, however, it is extremely poisonous, and these applications are declining however.


Arsenic used for medical use is known as arsenic trioxide.


Arsenic poisoning occurs in multicellular life if quantities are much higher than required, and contamination of groundwater, is a problem that affects millions of people around the world.

Arsenic poisoning is a medical condition that can occur because of elevated levels of arsenic in the human body, and if it occurs in a brief period of time, it can occur vomiting, abdominal pain, encephalopathy, and watery diarrhea that may contain blood, and extended exposure can result in darker skin, heart disease, numbness, and even cancer.
